Yay!!! it is only a couple of days until the Post Halloween Smos/ Halloween party .
Here are the basics

Who> Amy and Limey Z are hosting... You are attending

When> Saturday Nov 7th 8pm

Where> Wyandotte. Email or pm for address. ( my mommy told me never put that on the web)

What > It is a SMOS dinner, that rolls into a Halloween party. Costumes preferred but not mandatory... Think of it as dinner and a show. Hmm actually there is going to be a show there.

What is SMOS> for an explaination check HERE

I don't understand> see link above, until your head goes boom or you understand.

Okay so here are the details
As you know a SMOS is a community building event, often a pot luck often with a theme. And todays theme is, removes cover
Taco bar!
We will be providing queso, ground beef, basic taco fixins, two types of beans veg/non veg. If you want to bring a dish , topping, beverage by all means.

This SMOS is coupled with the Z's annual Halloween Party, so after dinner the fun keeps going.
Halloween was last week but before you put those Halloween Costumes away for the year.Come out to play with us.
We have an area upstairs for table top gaming. In the basement there will be a Live SMOS cast at some point of the evening. If you haven't heard any of the past episodes you can find them HERE
Karaoke, come on!! once more with feeling!!
We also will be playing bad movies or video games on the projector.
Costume contest, some drinking games and Much more!!

Which leads us to alcohol, the party is considered to be BYO Whatever. Or if you enjoy a good hard cider, have a keg. We buy a keg of Strongbow each year, and ask for donations to cover its cost. See Limey for details.

And because friends are a precious commodity we ask if you do drink that you do so in moderation. Or make arrangements for some of the limited crash space.

I will take cash also if/when you see me, but I would rather not deal with that. And IF we clear or get close enough to not kill my bank account I will " spread the wealth" back to the people who over paid.
Last year a couple people put in 25 each by nights end I was able to give them 8 bucks back, to put them closer to the same level as every one else.

Also this year, we have CO2 which ought allow the proper psi with minimal foam because the pump blew last year..

Hi, I am cheating this is a barely modded version of last years post> I think I got all the detatils corrected to match this year.

Hello, boys and gouhls. The time has come for the dead to walk among us again. ....

November 7th the Z's will be hosting our annual Halloween Party. This year with a twist, a SMOS will be taking place at the same time. We would like to invite you to our post Halloween Party. So before you put away that costume for a long nap, put it on one more time, come out and celebrate with us.. You don't have to have a costume to come... (Hey Limey is the costume guy, it's kinda what he does) Activities are still in the planning stages, but I assure you there will be something on the slab.

For the dinner portion of the evenings festivities, as at an usual SMOS, it will be pot luck. We are planning a main course Yet to be determined.

Side dishes and deserts are welcome. ....

Beverages are BYOWhatever or you can buy into the Keg. (Now here's where things get interesting.)....

I normally get Labatts or something of that nature. I however, can get a half barrel of Strongbow. The cost is almost prohibitive at $190. If I can secure enough donations to the cause I will gladly order it.....

I've mentioned this idea to a few people and got a positive response.

Please see leave a comment or send a message, if you're willing to donate.....

I'll leave the poll open until 10/27. By then I'll have paypal account, for donations, set up. Paypal account jazman479 @ hotmail....

So remember your vote counts.

....

Say you don't do cider, yet you want something umm, mildly toxic? I'm sure we can help with that too.....

Add to that I plan to ride the single speed I built earlier this year. I did my test and tune tonight, I adjusted my BB,headset.Checked torque on the recently installed crankset. I didn't think 5mm would make a difference, but WOW. I can haz ground clearance in turns. The saddle has been adjusted, but still uncomfortable, there is another option I need to fit it. There are three things that need to be done before Saturday. I need a freewheel cog, assemble a toolkit find my camel-back. Well thats all for now

So I stumbled across this through facebook, but this event is approaching, rather rapidly. So who's going? I am considering it,quite heavily.(Edit) I am there... It will be my longest ride, which causes me to wonder which bike to take.
My mountain/hybrid bike needs some maintenance/ a new saddle. Meanwhile I know Detroit is fairly flat, that makes me think fixie/ss territory.
On my old fixie 39/16x700c a sixteen mile ride was a good workout. Sadly, that bike is no more. My recent build is geared a bit higher 52/18x27. This should help me maintain speed easier but really suck if there is a hardcore head wind.
I would have given actual gear inches instead of ratios, but I have a black berry not and iPhone. Apparently, they have an app for that.. Also they also have an app to tell you where your fixie "skid stop" wear patches will happen. This is good to know, considering how hard it is to look at your tire. But I digress...

Either way I have 20 days to get myself together.

I have already heard from Jer about what to expect from the ride. I think it will be a helluva good time. Who else is planing on going? Is team alpaca reforming?

posted from my mobile g'nite

Today was great. I managed to get the lawn cut just before the rain. Amy and I did some precon Prep work. We also made plans to go for a bike ride.
Last August and I started to take weekly bike rides. Then a long ride was 2 miles. By seasons end if riding flat land she could get a solid four miles.
Today she clocked 8.5 miles. It was a beautiful ride at Lake Erie Metro park. The sun starting to set, a cool breeze coming in of the water. A quiet clicking of a freewheel hub coasting, harmonizing with the crickets and frogs. Near the parks center is a footbridge that crosses the huron river. Here we stopped to watch the river a bit. The first hatch of the season was occuring, surface as wellas just below and above were alive. Shore birds swooping low to catch the emerging insects. What the birds weren't getting the fish tried. After a while we got back under way.
As we neared the park exit she called out for a break. It seemed to be a good time dick around. Stoppie time, the plan a quick 25 degree stoppie ought to be fun to do and for her to see. The actual, as the rear wheel passed the 45 degree mark panic struck. According to Amy I looked hilarious as I ripped my feet from the cages. The bike came down as did I, laughing my ass off. I wished I stayed on the pedals. I could have rode away.

I was bummed because I missed Jer's Bachelor party, well the part I would be able to make, due to prior plans.
I could have left the auction early but I was waiting for a specific bike to hit the block. I wound up with a Giant Sedona, A 1966 Hercules 3 speed, and a Trek parts bike. The Trek is stripped of parts I needed, and I have given away some other parts away also. The 66 is going to craigs list or ebay it is beyond my will to work with. The Giant is a daily rider now, needs tires I am officially part of the fat tire club again.

Sunday, I decided I need to thin the herd. If I can find a buyer I will sell the fixie. I also need to relist my green 10 speed, and list the 66. I will miss the fixie but I tire of repairing tubes. The lack of surface area causes pot holes to eat tubes. Also on Sunday, Amy hosted a IMO a great baby shower for Sat. It was good to see some friends that don't come around very often. Hopefully when Pcon is done we can get together more.

Monday, I managed to wrap most of my con panel handouts. Ninety precent plus of my Friday outfit is complete. I also made a lot of progress on Amy's new corset.

Oh I studied my ass off for the Tuesday's State exam. Which I managed to pass, so now I am licensed to sell real estate. Next sell myself like a pimp to get some business, money would be good.

The book of today is not yet complete so until later.

SRSLY WTF???? Wipers RLY

Umm.. The following is a rant.

How fucking bad is the economy? Really fucking bad... According to the bad Shit o'meter, we are at steal windshield wipers bad. You might be thinking well shoplifting happens all the time.
Well that is true, however I'm talking about taking them of another car. Lemme explain,
Amy's Jetta now has new wiper blade now. While out tonight I flipped the wipers on. I am a huge fan of seeing where I am going. The first swipe was shitty and something didn't quite look right. The next swipe confirmed it...
The drivers side wiper was bent like 30 degrees. I looked at Amy and asked WTF did you do? She told me it was like that this morning??? at first I thought it might have been bent during the heavy rains Saturday. Yet Sunday when I drove in the rain the wipers were fine. So that wasn't the cause. At a stop light a quick glance at the passenger side wiper and another WTF. The passenger wiper wasn't clipped to the mother fucking arm. To Murray's.... New blades according to the book. Amy had bought the prior set using the same guide. So the new and take off (T/O) blades should match, right??? Nope not even close the (T/O)'s are two inches shorter..
Slap them on to find the drivers side wiper arm is bent.. Swear loudly and rebend..

I hope you enjoy your new wipers you sonnauva bitch, please eat an overpass asshole.
So out of all the things to steal, you stole my wipers. Thanks for leaving her antenna and hubcaps.
</rant>
